Turmeric lattes or 'golden milk' have become a food trend, infiltrating cafe's around the world as healthy alternative to coffee. Turmeric milk is traditionally an Indian homey remedy for coughs, congestions, skin problems and for a peaceful night's sleep. It can also be consumed in the morning as an invigorating start to the day.

This turmeric latte recipes only takes 5 mins to make and is packed with so much goodness, leaving you glowing from the inside & out!

Turmeric:

This vibrant spice is full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Not to mention it boosts your immune system by fighting off cold & flu, promotes healthy digestion and glowing skin and enhances your brain function and mood.

Cinnamon:

The natural sweetness of cinnamon is warming, boosting circulation and balancing blood sugar levels.

Black pepper:

Any time you use turmeric think pepper! In fact, adding a pinch of black pepper boosts the absorption of turmeric by 2000% - that's 20 times!

Turmeric Latte (Golden Milk)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (my preferred is coconut)
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • a pinch of black pepper

Optional additions:

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • ground nutmeg or rose petals to top

Directions

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and whisk/stir together over a gentle heat, or with a milk frother.

Once hot, pour into a mug and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon to serve.
